Meta Platforms (META) and Microsoft (MSFT) also advanced, up 3.3% and 3.0% respectively, and NVIDIA (NVDA) rose 2.9%.
Apple (AAPL) was the session’s clear laggard, dropping 7.4% to close at 308.91. UnitedHealth Group (UNH) also declined, slipping 1.7% to 414.40.
Elsewhere on the watchlist, moves were far more muted. Tesla (TSLA) edged up 0.8%, JPMorgan Chase (JPM) was roughly flat with a 0.3% gain, and Visa (V) closed essentially unchanged at 366.13.
