Big technology names dominated a highly volatile session, with sharp divergence among the largest companies. Amazon.com (AMZN) led all movers with a 15.3% gain, closing at 271.58, while Alphabet (GOOGL) added 6.7% to finish at 356.13. Meta Platforms (META) and Microsoft (MSFT) also advanced, up 3.3% and 3.0% respectively, and NVIDIA (NVDA) rose 2.9%.

Apple (AAPL) was the session’s clear laggard, dropping 7.4% to close at 308.91. UnitedHealth Group (UNH) also declined, slipping 1.7% to 414.40.

Elsewhere on the watchlist, moves were far more muted. Tesla (TSLA) edged up 0.8%, JPMorgan Chase (JPM) was roughly flat with a 0.3% gain, and Visa (V) closed essentially unchanged at 366.13.

Apple (AAPL) fell 7.4% to 308.91, down 24.52 points from its previous close of 333.43.

Alphabet (GOOGL) rose 6.7% to close at 356.13, adding 22.47 points on the day.

Meta Platforms (META) gained 3.3%, closing at 556.71 versus a prior close of 539.03.
