NVIDIA jumps 8.7% to lead a mixed Thursday session
NVIDIA (NVDA) surged 8.7% to lead the watchlist on Aug. 27, while Tesla and Microsoft posted smaller gains and Amazon, UnitedHealth, and several other large caps slipped modestly.

Thursday’s session was dominated by a sharp advance in NVIDIA (NVDA), which overshadowed a mostly quiet, mixed day across the rest of the watchlist. Trading was otherwise contained to moves of less than 3% in either direction, with mega-cap technology names split between modest gains and modest losses.
Tesla (TSLA) and Microsoft (MSFT) posted the next-largest gains, while Apple (AAPL) and SpaceX (SPCX) each edged higher by less than 1%. On the downside, Amazon.com (AMZN) and UnitedHealth Group (UNH) led decliners, each slipping 1.5%, with Visa (V), Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), Meta Platforms (META), JPMorgan Chase (JPM), and Alphabet (GOOGL) all down by less than 2%.
Outside of NVIDIA’s outsized move, the session showed no clear sector leadership — financials (JPM, V), healthcare (UNH), and technology names were scattered on both sides of flat, with no watchlist stock other than NVDA moving more than 3%.

Tesla (TSLA) rose 2.6% to $354.81, the second-largest gain of the day.
Microsoft (MSFT) added 1.8%, closing at $505.06.
Amazon.com (AMZN) fell 1.5% to $256.26, tying UnitedHealth Group for the day’s steepest decline on the watchlist.
