On the downside, NVIDIA (NVDA) and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) both declined 2.9%, with NVDA closing at $217.55 and AMD at $469.56, making chipmakers the session’s weakest group. Apple (AAPL) also gave back ground, closing at $308.26 versus a prior close of $313.33.

Elsewhere, moves were modest. Amazon.com (AMZN) rose to $278.09 and Microsoft (MSFT) advanced to $506.06, while Alphabet (GOOGL), Tesla (TSLA), JPMorgan Chase (JPM), Meta Platforms (META) and UnitedHealth Group (UNH) each posted smaller gains. Visa (V) was the only other decliner, slipping to $361.32 from $362.50.

Overall, the session showed a split between strength in SpaceX and several mega-cap tech and financial names against weakness concentrated in semiconductors and Apple.

SpaceX (SPCX) was the watchlist’s top mover, closing at $138.74 versus a prior close of $133.11, a gain of 4.2%.

NVIDIA (NVDA) declined 2.9%, closing at $217.55 after a prior close of $223.96.

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) also fell 2.9%, closing at $469.56 versus $483.36 the prior session.

Apple (AAPL) closed at $308.26, down 1.6% from its prior close of $313.33.
